PEACE FINALLY RESTORED AT NTOTROSO COLLEGE OF NURSING
After a protracted dispute between students and the principal of Ntotroso College of Nursing in the Asutifi North district of Ahafo Region few months ago, peace has been restored.
It was in the news last month that Alhaj Abdul Karim Boakye Yiadom, principal of the college locked up students dormitories for failing to sign a bond to put up good behavior afternoon tempting to stage a demonstration against the school principal.
Information gathered by Sikka Fm indicates that peace has been restored.
Just this weekend 31st March 2019 the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the school organized a peaceful football game to show readiness to obey school rules and regulations and also live with authorities of the school as parents and children.
Earlier, the students has complained that despite paying for practical session and other levies, they were not allowed to enjoy such services which mounted to a cheating.
They subsequently petitioned the minister of health to sacked the principal of the school Alhaj Abdul Karim Boakye Yiadom over the issue.
Sikka Fm can confirm that, the quick intervention of the Ghana health service together with the chiefs and elder of Ntotroso traditional area and the students readiness has helped resolving the impass making teaching and learning effective as we speak.
Speaking after the games, Barimah Twereku Ampem II the chief of the area applauded the students for regretting their wrong doing and putting up good behavior for academic excellent.
He said, the restoration of peace among the institution will help change the health ministry’s decision to close down the college when the school was at war.
‘We are trying hard to convince authorities of Ghana health service to introduce more benefited courses in the school hopefully this year, he revealed.
He then advised students to comport themselves and be submission to authority.
He added that, his doors are open for students to address their grievances, if any and should desist from taking unwarranted actions when there’s a problem.
The principal of the school Alhaj Abdul Karim Boakye Yiadom who spoke to Sikka Fm reporter Akoko Asense, was not happy about the unfortunate news that hit the school few months ago.
He is much happy that finally peace has been restored in the school.
He promised teachers readiness to give their best to students in other for them to achieve their aims in the school.
He revealed that, teaching and learning materials such as skeletal and muscular system are available just to ensure that students received quality education so that they could give out their possible best when they go out there to serve in various communities they would be posted.
