2019 Budget: We will write good script when the Ultra- modern film studio is ready – Sam Darkus
Page 100 of the 2019 budget presented by the finance minister, Hon. Ken Ofori Atta had some good news for the creative art industry.
According to the 2019 budget, the government is poised to boost the creative art industry massively with national film secretariat and on top of it all the art industry will benefit an ultra- modern film studio to help boost the industry.
Chief Executive Officer of Kumawood Multimedia Mr. Samuel Kwabena Darko has said the introduction of the ultra- modern film studio promised by the government will help producers and script writers to write good and standard scripts which will portray our culture as Ghanaian and Africa as a whole.
Speaking on Sikka fm’s FLAVOUR ZONE, the number 1 entertainment show in the Ashanti Region hosted by Buju, Sam Darkus as he is affectionately called said is a call on the right direction and therefore commanded the government for that initiative and urged that this shouldn’t be a mere political talk but follow with action.
Finally said when the ultra- modern studio is completed it will ease heavy pressure from producers in terms of finances and equipments. He said sometimes producers are limited in equipments, constrained by finances that is one major factor that has contributed to the poor state of our film industry today.
